I am so happy to welcome you to MADREMONTE — a dream that my inner child always had but never thought she could bring to life. A creative space where all my random hobbies and interests had a place to be heard, pieced together, and refined using the skills and practices i’ve learnt from my ancestors and mothernature. This shop is the culmination of everything I’ve ever loved, and I’m ready to share it with you♡.
Madremonte is the protector of nature, a Deity in South American folklore. It is Her wisdom that our values are built on. Who else perfectly encapsulates the eternal tension between humanitys needs for resources and the earths desperate cry for respect and preservation? That is why this brand makes conscious choices to protect our planet, by working with sustainable materials, partnering with small, like-minded businesses, and supporting charities that share our vision for a better, greener world.

Ethically Sourced Materials
At MADREMONTE, each piece I create honors the beauty of imperfection, following the laws of nature even through the ways I source my materials. I focus on materials that are organic/natural, thrifted, reused, or repurposed. Each piece is unique and often unreplicable because of the materials themselves. For example, an amazing find in a charity shop that will never be found again, or the natural variations found in organic yarn, or sourcing natural and foraged materials.
As I learn and appreciate the art of my people, such as beadwork from The Embera or crochet, knitting, etc., from my aunties, it’s impossible to overlook how society has drifted away from the wisdom and traditions of the past. Skills like foraging, handcrafting, and living in harmony with nature —once passed down through generations— have been overshadowed by the fast pace of modern life *cough capitalism cough* that I don’t want to be a part of. But do we have the time to worry about what we’re wearing and its process when we already have enough on our plate? That’s why my job is to do the hard work for you —you just enjoy being a part of keeping these traditions alive and appreciated♡.
